7/25: rooms are clean with appropriate amenities, a little dated and worn but very functional and clean. What else does one expect for Cooke City Montana ? Internet is very fast and staff is very personable and helpful.

Stayed here for a few nights to ski, great location, clean rooms and friendly service. It was a pleasure to talk to Curtis, the interim manager.

In a pinch, okay prices! Room smelled like pinesol the whole night. It was super strong to the point it smelled like it was not diluted. I don’t know if it was the building or what but most of the night there was a buzzing, beeping, and water running sound.

My mother and I stayed here while visiting Yellowstone. What a rad place, it’s rustic and everything you would expect from a joint in a small remote mountain town. A bar overlooking Soda Butte creek and the lobby with huge windows a fireplace and plenty of seating. It ain’t the Hyatt Regency, but I don’t want that in Cooke City, MT. This place is exactly what I envisioned when we decide to stay in Cooke. And Curtis (I believe that is his name) the manager was awesome. Very nice, funny, and helpful. I will be back. Thank you Soda Butte Lodge

Food was hot and fast. Location was great. We did not stay in the hotel but have in the past. I've read several of the reviews and just want to say - Cooke City is a vibe. If you want good wifi, and updated room and modern - stay somewhere else. I come to Cooke City because my cell phone does not work and I absolutely love it!

I read recent reviews and was really hesitant on staying here. We showed up around 11pm and hadn't eaten most of the day. They fired up the closed kitchen for us and we're able to make us some BLTS and Curry. The food was super good and not overly expensive. Room we had looked fairly new, and was really clean. I really was expecting a bad experience here, but was not bad at all.

I stayed here the night before a trip in the back country to climb Granite Peak, and again the night we got back. The location was great, only 15 minutes to the trailhead I was using. Since we didn't get back to our vehicles until midnight after the climb, I appreciated the staff leaving our room key on the reception desk. The coffee machine was good. I appreciated the meeting space in the lobby and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom door in my room didn't close very well and there were strange noises throughout the night. Not a 5 star hotel, but it was good enough for me.

We mistakenly reached Cooke city and were not able to find any hotel. It was middle of the night and we had nowhere to go.The owner of this place was very kind to provide us place to stay without any charge even when his hotel was fully booked. He also provided a place in his own house to one family as they were in urgent need. In today's times we would rarely come across such kind people who care for others.Thank you Sir for helping us in need. We saw the rooms in the hotel. They were very clean. There was an in-house restaurant as well. It is also one of the nicest hotel in this area. I would definitely recommend this lodge to everyone visiting yellowstone/cooke city.
